Plant Pathogenic Fungi

Most of us don't encounter mold that often. Sure, you might see something white growing on a strawberry, something green growing on an orange, or something gray growing on an onion. You might even like to eat a blue cheese. But the molds that are of greatest concern aren't those that spoil food, or even the ones that infect people. It's the ones that kill the plants that make your food. If those get out of control, we could easily experience a famine. There is also a fungus that is wiping out amphibian populations all over the world.

The following images are inspired by (but do not accurately depict) some of the more common plant pathogenic fungi, as well as the fungus that is attacking amphibians.
